For the first 1.5 years of her life, Masha was in an orphanage. The girl was born with multiple developmental disorders.
When Masha's foster mother, Anastasia, took her into a loving family, it became clear that the child was not receiving proper care and was significantly behind in development compared to her peers. Masha could not hold her head or play with toys, and she could not eat through her mouth due to a gastrostomy tube.
During her 1.5 years with the family, Masha underwent significant changes. The girl has learned to eat through her mouth, sit independently for up to 15 minutes, and pronounce several syllables. Maria now needs to undergo a rehabilitation course to learn how to stand and walk, as well as to improve her speech skills.
Maria's foster parents understand the importance of intensive rehabilitation for a child with disabilities, and they are actively working on her health.
