The role of aqua rehabilitation for children with disabilities can hardly be overestimated. For children with disabilities, the swimming pool is not only a means of strengthening health and increasing physical activity, but also an important factor in the correction of impaired functions. The problem for children with disabilities is that during the day they do not perform the necessary number of movements, and it weakens the already unhealthy body of the child.
Swimming exercises help to compensate for the uneven strain on the muscles; correctly selected exercises in water help to relieve muscle tone, develop attention, reaction and co-ordination of movements in the child. Children with severe posture disorders are relieved in the water, the spine relaxes and straightens up over time and, unlike exercise on land, stretching in water does not cause pain. Swimming alternates between tension and relaxation of different muscles, which increases their endurance. Children's heart activity, chest mobility and lung capacity increase significantly.
Water exercise significantly increases the efficiency of complex rehabilitation. Due to the lack of a swimming pool in the Novorossiysk rehabilitation centre, our foundation supplements the rehabilitation services offered by the centre with a session in the swimming pool.
Our fund provides an opportunity for ten disabled children to attend individual lessons in the pool with a rehabilitation coach. Each of these ten children will receive a pass for 10 sessions.
We hope you will be able to support our project. Together we will give subscriptions to children, whose families have a hard time paying for their children's rehabilitation on their own.
