When a cat or dog loses consciousness, stops breathing, suffocates from swelling, trauma or anesthesia, seconds count. At that moment, the doctor must quickly and accurately ensure the patency of the respiratory tract, so that the animal can breathe and therefore live. This requires a laryngoscope and an ambu bag, two simple but vital tools without which resuscitation and emergency veterinary care are impossible.
A laryngoscope is a lighted device that helps the doctor quickly visualize the larynx and insert a tube into the animal's windpipe. Without it, intubation is not possible. An ambu bag is a device for artificial ventilation of the lungs. It allows you to manually ventilate an animal's lungs when it cannot breathe on its own after a traffic accident, during respiratory arrest, edema, severe pneumonia, during anesthesia or in the post-operative period.
The shelter receives the most severe patients from all over the region: hit by cars, bitten, emaciated, with viral complications, respiratory failure. The staff does everything they can to save them - but to do so, we must have a full basic ICU. You can support the project and help make every breath accessible and timely!
