Little Muhammad is only three years old and doesn't know he is seriously ill. He just wants to play with cars again, laugh and be at home with his family. Last December, the cheerful and active Muhammad suddenly lost his appetite and interest in games, his lips cracked and his skin turned yellowish. At first doctors treated him for anemia, but the boy's condition only worsened. The dreadful diagnosis of acute leukemia hit the family like a thunderclap. Back home in Tajikistan, doctors were unable to help the boy. The parents sold their car and all their most valuable possessions to bring their son to Moscow, hoping for salvation. In the capital, the boy was urgently hospitalized with fever and vomiting. Now he is being treated at the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital (RDKB), but every procedure is for a fee. Dad works as a welder, mom brings up the children. Now the family has had to split up: mom is in Moscow with Muhammad, dad is at home with his one and a half year old son.
