Born at 32 weeks, Istoda faced one of the most common diseases of premature babies - visual impairment and pathology of the development of the structures of the right eye. The girl has a deformation of the anterior chamber of the eye, corneal dystrophy, cataracts and retinal detachment.

Now Istoda is eight months old. She has already undergone two organ-preserving surgeries.
A consultation and the next stage of surgery are scheduled for mid-May. This surgery is very important for the girl's health. If it is successful, Istoda's eye will remain in place. If the surgery does not lead to an improvement in the eye, prosthetics may be needed.
