Marusya is 1.9 years old, and she has been diagnosed with acute myeloblastic leukemia. When Marusya smiles, it seems like the whole world is smiling. She has a toy parrot: bright, singing, and dancing. It is almost as tall as she is. At first, Marusya was afraid of it, but now she sings a duet with it. If she doesn’t like how it sings, she gently pushes it and giggles cheerfully: “I won.”
Marusya will soon be two years old. She has spent almost all of this short age in a hospital ward: in her mother’s arms, on IVs. She had a heart operation almost immediately after birth, and a very difficult treatment for endocarditis. And when she was not even a year old, doctors suspected another disease: blood cancer.
Marusya has endured three chemotherapy cycles. But now it is especially hard for her. After treatment for leukemia, she developed fungal pneumonia. This is a common but very dangerous complication: there is almost no immunity after chemotherapy, and the fungi "capture" the lungs. They are not felt, are not visible on X-rays, and do not respond to antibiotics. Only expensive antifungal drugs can stop the disease.
Marusya needs one specific drug. Others simply do not work. Now its purchase is a matter of life and death. The lungs cannot cope without it. And smiling Marusya so wants to pet the dog. To play pyramids again. And just to be at home.
Tubers, Marusya needs help. And we can save her.
Пусть Аллах поможет Марусе🤲🙏
