Khalid has autism. He was born at 33-34 weeks of pregnancy and, due to birth asphyxia, suffered severe brain injuries, including meningoencephalitis and hemorrhages. He spent the first two months in the intensive care unit of the maternity hospital, where he was under machines and on a ventilator. Subsequently, he often developed bronchitis and pneumonia, since his lungs did not open at birth. Despite all the difficulties, Khalid developed quite well thanks to constant neurological treatment. However, at the age of 1 year and 10 months, he became very ill with pneumonia, and doctors could not bring down the high temperature, which led to a significant deterioration in his condition. The words he already knew disappeared, his look changed, unwanted habits and stereotypical behavior appeared. The family went to Moscow for diagnostics, where he was diagnosed with autism. He is now 12 years old. The boy has undergone numerous rehabilitations, including trips to Astrakhan for treatment, micropolarization, microcurrent reflexology, medication, osteopathy, hippotherapy, swimming and ABA therapy.
