Sergei's surgery has been postponed until next year, but it will definitely happen thanks to you

Sergey Meshcheryakov is a difficult patient. When the pandemic struck the world, the Meshcheryakovs' family received news: their son can barely hear anything, so he can't even pronounce "mom" at the age of five. Then came other news: Sergei's heart could stop at any moment.
The boy's treatment is complicated and has to be divided into several stages. A cochlear implant will help him get his hearing back. It is being installed by quota, and the Meshcheryakovs are already ready for the surgery. But the thing is that the boy's diseased heart cannot bear anesthesia and surgery. That is why it is necessary to "back up" him first.
In such cases, two surgeries are indicated at once: a left-sided sympathectomy and the installation of a defibrillator. The first one is paid, the second one is under the quota. Thanks to the support of 1,727 Tubers, the sum necessary to pay for the sympatectomy was collected. However, at the last minute, when Seryozha was already hospitalized, the doctors decided to switch operations. A defibrillator was installed for Sergei. Now he will get his hearing back, and the boy will undergo speech rehabilitation. And then he will undergo a sympathectomy surgery.
The Meshcheryakovs family would like to thank the benefactors who were not indifferent to their son's story.
"Thank you so much to everyone who supported the collection. We have a very long road of treatment and recovery ahead of us. With the defibrillator and on blockers my son is feeling well, but we really need a sympathectomy. It will help prevent the risk of sudden death. And we are glad that the funds for the operation have already been raised", - says Yana, the baby's mother.
Thank you to everyone who was part of this story and gave Sergei a chance for a long and full life.

Let's fix Sergey's heart together!
No one could even suppose that Sergey Meshcheryakov had a sick heart. A small and nimble child, the son of a paratrooper without a single heart patient in the family.
The first fainting occurred at the age of two. Sergey caught his boot on the gate, fell and burst into tears. And when his mother ran up, he went limp in her arms. From bad to worse - Sergey lost consciousness or turned pale once a month, then once a week, then every other day.
Last summer the boy was finally diagnosed with long QT syndrome, one of the most common causes of sudden death. The child was prescribed drugs to keep the heart in the correct rhythm, and the fainting stopped.
One ought to be happy, but that was not the case. It turned out that due to genetic breakdown, Sergey is practically deaf and can hear only very loud sounds. It is clear now why by the age of 4 he speaks only a few words.
Doctors are encouraging that it is not too late to undergo the cochlear implantation - to implant a special apparatus in the ear. The boy will hear, learn to speak and go to school like everyone else.
But there is a risk that Sergey may not withstand the anesthesia. It turns out that in order to restore hearing, you must first fix a sick heart.
Cardiologists from Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University are ready to help. However, such surgeries are not covered by the insurance and cost almost 400 thousand rubles.
Sergey and his parents hope on us.
