Report

Thanks to your support, we were able to fund the essential work of social case managers who support 120 beneficiaries of Perspektivy every day – people with multiple disabilities living at the SSH “Petergof” (Psychoneurological Residential Institution №3).

To ensure that people with severe disabilities in residential institutions are not left alone and can feel care and warmth, they are supported by social case managers. These specialists monitor the health of the people they support, protect their interests and rights, organize celebrations and leisure activities, and accompany them to workshops and classes. They also help them experience life beyond the walls of the institution, assist with obtaining an individual rehabilitation plan, and make sure that each person has suitable assistive equipment, such as wheelchairs, walkers, and other aids.

If some of our beneficiaries were able to speak, this is what they would say about their social case managers:

“Next to Oksana, I always feel calm. We often attend music sessions, and Oksana spends a lot of time with me. Recently, she gave me a toy. I used to be frightened by the sounds it makes when you press it, but when I hear them together with my social case manager, they make me happy. Oksana also often wipes and washes my face — I really like this, and it makes me laugh!”

About the campaign

We will help pay for the work of important assistants for people with disabilities in a boarding house

Misha is a smiling guy who loves to travel, communicate and create. Although he cannot walk or talk, and his arms and body do not obey him. For many years, Misha has lived in a psychoneurological boarding house, where he is supported every day by the staff of Perspektivy.

So that people with severe disabilities are not left alone, feel warmth and care, they are accompanied by social curators. Today, there are 120 people under our care.

“Misha has a strong creative streak,” says curator Polina. “He sings in his own special way, plays in the theater, but most of all he loves the Perspektivy art studio – he can spend hours on end there. He has his own artistic language, and his works are like sound: they freely “flow” in space.

I try to maintain his rhythm, help him develop, and also create comfortable living conditions, as much as possible in a boarding house. I make sure that he has basic personal items: a jacket for walks, shampoo. This is important for any person."

A social curator is a friend who will listen, come to the rescue, accompany to classes, show the world outside the walls of the boarding house. The funds raised will go to pay for the work of these important specialists. Thank you for supporting us!
