Last summer Abdumalik was diagnosed with brain cancer. Doctors gave a disappointing prognosis, but the 19-year-old did not give up without a fight. He went part of the way on his own, but now he needs help from people who care.
Abdumalik was the best pupil at school, an example to his classmates. Mathematics and physics were of particular interest to him. The boy dreamed of becoming a programmer. But an illness intervened.
First, he had severe headaches, which could not be treated with painkillers. Then his eyesight deteriorated. The family sounded the alarm and went to Dushanbe for a check-up. An MRI scan revealed a malignant tumor and gave the dreaded diagnosis "germinoma of the pineal area. In my native Tajikistan they would not remove the tumor. They don't perform such operations there.
Abdumalik came to Moscow, where he had the tumor removed and underwent chemotherapy. Although the surgery and chemotherapy helped, Abdumalik has a high risk of new cancer cells. Radiation therapy was needed to prevent this.
To pay for the treatment, the family sold possessions and threw everything they had into the fight against cancer. There is no money left for radiation therapy.
Let's help a young, life-loving man make one last push toward recovery and realization of his dreams! Abdumaliku's participation is important to all of us!
