Foundation St. Petersburg

The boy had a planned MRI check-up of the central nervous system, he underwent all the necessary tests and received consultations from the profile specialists: neuro-oncologist, endocrinologist and geneticist. The results of examinations are encouraging - everything is stable in Gurami, the disease has not progressed. "We always worry a lot before the examination. But when we received the doctors' report, we felt a great relief. Thank God, stability - that's happiness for us", - the boy's mother Natalia says. Now Guramchik attends kindergarten, studies with a speech therapist and he is ready to go to the first grade. The boy has chosen a schoolbag and now he periodically tries it on. Recently Guramchik began to go swimming - our therapist in Moscow recommended him to go for a long time. He is slowly getting used to the water and learning to swim with a trainer. We send the words of gratitude from mother of Said, Natalya: "I would like to express my deep gratitude and sincere appreciation for all your work in helping and supporting our children! Thank you for your responsiveness and your kind heart! With your help we had another checkup. Thank you!" Thank you for your help!

Campaign information

Let's help Gurami get checked out for disease control!

Eight-year-old Gurami is an affectionate child. He treats his family with care and takes care of his hamster Busya with care and gentleness. Gurami loves his little brother Dima - if someone hurts him, Gourami always defends him. The boys spend all their time together: playing with cars, drawing, doing math and riding scooters. Gurami is now getting ready for school - he will go to the first class this year. Gurami draws and designs a lot, plays logic games, goes swimming and assiduously develops new skills. The boy dreams of becoming a doctor. "When I grow up, I will save all the children!", says Gourami about his plans. At the age of two, the boy fell from a child's chair and hit his head on the floor. An hour and a half after the fall vomiting started. His parents called an ambulance. The boy was taken to the hospital. "They did a CT scan there to rule out concussion, but they found a tumor in the brain," Gurami 's parents shared. Gurami was operated on at the Burdenko Scientific Research Institute in Moscow and the tumor was removed. But the metastases remained. The boy underwent three courses of high-dose chemotherapy and proton therapy. Since 2017 Gurami has had quarterly MRI scans to monitor the disease. After proton therapy, the examination is performed on specialized tomographs, which are not declared to the compulsory health insurance, so Gurami cannot get it for free. We have to help the boy to make one more confident step towards his dream - to be healthy. You can also support the collection by sharing it on social networks, so that as many people as possible know Gurami 's story.
