At first glance, Elmir is an ordinary guy: cheerful, with bright eyes, just enrolled in a construction university. He loves assembling furniture, fixing broken things, and creating something new.
Elmir has been sick since birth. Every month—pneumonia, tonsillitis, bronchitis. Every season—rhinitis, sinusitis, asthma attacks. Doctors treated the symptoms, prescribed antibiotics, but no one understood why his body couldn’t defend itself.
Only at 17, after medical examinations at the military enlistment office, did he receive a diagnosis: primary immunodeficiency. This is a genetic disorder—Elmir’s immune system barely functions. Now, he urgently needs replacement therapy—expensive immunoglobulins, donor antibodies that will replace what his body can’t produce. Currently, Elmir is applying for disability status, but he can’t yet receive the medication through benefits. And he needs treatment now—without it, even a common cold becomes life-threatening.
