Osiya lives with a severe congenital heart defect: pulmonary atresia, a ventricular septal defect, and patent ductus arteriosus. She has already undergone two complex surgeries, which helped her begin to grow, take her first steps, and say her first words — “mama” and “papa”. Now it's time for the third surgery - the final stage of her heart defect correction.
Because of her health, Osiya struggles to gain weight, has difficulty moving, and suffers from shortness of breath. Doctors recommend not to postpone the surgery, but to carry out the radical correction by replacing the non-functioning pulmonary valve with a homograft. This is a unique implant, custom-made to fit the child’s anatomy.
After the surgery, Osiya will be able to breathe more easily and will stop getting tired quickly. Most important thing is that the operation will eliminate the risk of sudden cardiac arrest.
Osiya does not have Russian citizenship her family lives in Tajikistan, so she is not eligible for government-funded treatment in Russia. Her parents cannot afford the cost on their own. Help is needed to purchase the homograft.
Let’s help Osiya become healthy together!
