Katusha was only 4 months old when she was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. I've had 5 brain surgeries and a whole year of chemotherapy. The growth of the neoplasm was stopped. To avoid a relapse, Katya is currently undergoing targeted therapy. But the complicated long-term treatment did not go unnoticed. For months, the baby lay motionless, unable to speak. It was only through long-term, regular rehabilitation that Katyusha learned to speak and take her first steps with support.
"With each rehabilitation course, I see my girl returning to a normal life. After two years of complete silence, she's talking, and for me it's like a miracle. Katya is 5 years old and only now she has learned how to build sentences and conduct a dialogue. Katyusha is already moving with the help of a walker. Of course, there is a lot of work and tears behind every new movement," says Katya's mother, Lilia.
Katyusha has a chance to return to a normal childhood life with outdoor games, walks, and friends. But any break in rehabilitation means a "rollback" back, the loss of hard-won skills.
Now it's time for another rehabilitation course. But parents can't pay for classes. There are two children in the family, only Dad works. During the years of her daughter's illness, the family had exhausted its financial resources.
