Yana Akulshina from Bataysk spent seven years waiting for her baby, going through several IVF attempts. In July, a positive test brought long-awaited joy, but complications soon followed: loss of one twin, risk of miscarriage, and a congenital heart defect in her daughter.

At 34 weeks, doctors advised an urgent move to Moscow, closer to the Federal Perinatal Center.

The “Light in Hands” Foundation supported the family with housing, medical tests, and psychological care. This support became essential during the toughest days as the parents learned to manage stress and found strength to stay close to their newborn. A week after moving, Yana developed severe complications and underwent an emergency C-section. She is now home, growing stronger.
