Everything that the ten-year-old Tim from Poltava takes on, he manages with ease. As a child, in just one month he moved from a tricycle to a two-wheeled bicycle, learned to swim, and later to skateboard and rollerblade, and began to draw. Tima grew up to be an active child. Until the disease made itself felt.
In August 2019, the boy complained of frequent headaches. According to the results of an MRI, doctors discovered a brain tumor. A few months later, an open biopsy was performed in Kiev for Tim, but the exact diagnosis could not be established, and the boy was sent home with disability status.
Two years later Timofey arrived from Ukraine to Moscow, to the Burdenko Neurosurgical Research Center, where the tumor was removed. The surgery was successful, the tumor turned out to be benign - a pyloid astrocytoma. But due to its location, the disease led to adverse health consequences. Tim could not breathe, swallow, or move on his own. Doctors installed a tracheostomy and recommended a course of rehabilitation at the Three Sisters Center.
"The first course of rehabilitation helped. My son learned to sit and stand again, but he can't swallow or speak yet. He dreams to recover, remove the tracheostomy and return to his former life," Tim's mother Ludmila shared.
His doctor thinks there is a chance for him to recover. If you let him go home, you could lose time. Besides, in Tim's home town they can't give him any qualified help. It can only be given at the "Three Sisters" center.
The cost of the rehabilitation course is 438,000 roubles. Tim is not a citizen of the Russian Federation, so he cannot get it for free.
