Sofiya recently turned 7 years old. After the age of one, the little girl stopped understanding spoken language, forgot her grandmother and grandfather, became selective in her eating, began to cry and vocalize frequently, started lining up toys, and developed a fear of new places and people. Specialists diagnosed her with delayed psycho-speech development and residual encephalopathy.
Sofiya's rehabilitation course included a combination of sessions and hardware-based procedures. The girl worked with specialists in sensory integration, adaptive sports, and art therapy, and also attended sessions of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
During sensory integration and adaptive physical education sessions, Sofiya improved her sensory and physical skills, and developed a sense of balance. Sofiya became better at perceiving auditory information, and there has been positive progress in the development of both her gross and fine motor skills.
With the art therapy specialist, the girl worked on her visual and tactile perception skills. Sofiya learned to hold a pencil and brush correctly, to color within the lines, and even to sculpt small figures out of modeling clay!
