Asela was born at 27 weeks weighing less than a kilogram. Doctors saved her life, but unfortunately, the child was unable to avoid a serious diagnosis – cerebral palsy.
The girl is growing up to be kind and curious, she loves to draw and dreams of walking outside not only holding her mom and dad's hands, but also on her own. However, due to severe spasticity in her legs, Aselya is not yet able to walk on her own.
SDR surgery—selective dorsal rhizotomy—will help her. Surgeons will remove the pathological impulses that cause constant muscle tension in her legs, after which it will be easier for Aselya to stand, move, and learn to walk.
Let's help pay for Aselia's surgery! Treatment can be provided under a quota, but she will have to wait several years for her turn. And with each passing day, Aselia's muscles become stiffer, deforming her joints and causing pain. With our help, Aselia will avoid serious complications and be able to start walking on her own!
