Vika successfully completed the rehabilitation course!

Bereginya

Foundation Perm region

Victoria's family expresses their deep gratitude to the Bereginya Charitable Foundation and all the well-wishers who supported the girl's rehabilitation program at the Healthy Childhood Medical Center in Yekaterinburg. The main goal—helping Vika get back on her feet—is already yielding noticeable results. Upon her arrival at the rehabilitation center, a consultation was held. They diagnosed severe spinal hyperlordosis, caused by prolonged unsupported sitting, which meant the girl couldn't hold her back up without using her arms. Specialists developed a plan focusing on strengthening her back and overall stabilization. After the program, the progress is impressive! Vika learned to maintain a more correct posture without using her arms, her lordosis has significantly decreased, and she has regained a third of her leg sensitivity, even feeling pain—a sign of restored nerve conduction. This is a shared success for the center's team of specialists and everyone who contributed to the fundraising effort. Thank you all for your support!

Vika has spina bifida. She needs rehabilitation to learn to walk

Six-year-old Vika has undergone about two dozen surgeries and more than twenty general anesthetics. Her path to recovery is long and difficult, but it makes sense, considering that her very existence was in question. Immediately after birth, Vika was diagnosed with a congenital disease - spina bifida. The first, most complex operation to release the fixed spinal cord was performed when she was one month old. Soon after the operation, Vika began to develop hydrocephalus - excess fluid accumulation in the brain. More anesthesia, surgery and installation of a shunt. Later, during an examination, a fibroma was found in the spinal cord. The third operation was performed in Tyumen after her first birthday, but complications arose - the legs weakened, the girl stopped walking. Doctors say that the muscles work, but she does not feel them. Many difficulties were overcome, and now Vika has a new stage in her life - learning to walk. The girl spent four months in the Ilizarov apparatus, now her legs are fixed in plaster. Soon she will go to Moscow to have them removed, and then she will have foot braces made. In the fall, Vika will go to rehabilitation, and she needs our help. Victoria has a rehabilitation program in Yekaterinburg at the "Healthy Childhood" rehabilitation center. Author's exercise therapy programs, modern equipment, and experienced doctors will help Victoria. Please help this radiant girl!
