Matvey was born prematurely at 34 weeks. At birth, he was diagnosed with cytomegalovirus infection, which severely affected his brain — doctors found partial agenesis of the corpus callosum. Later, additional conditions appeared: hearing loss (grade 4 in the left ear, grade 2 in the right), partial atrophy of the right eye. At the age of 1, Matvey was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, and at 2 he had his first epileptic seizure, which is now controlled with medication. In December 2024, he was diagnosed with pseudobulbar syndrome, which required a gastrostomy.
Today, his condition has improved: he gains weight steadily, has become more emotional, shows greater interest in the world, and responds better to sounds. Thanks to physical therapy and massage, Matvey now sits more steadily, crosses his legs less, and his muscle tone decreases. However, without regular rehabilitation courses there is a risk of regression, and state centers refuse to admit him because he still cannot sit or walk independently.
Matvey lives with his loving parents, supported by grandparents. He enjoys listening to music, watching birds and toys, and traveling with his family, though this has become more difficult as he grows.
Our goal is to improve Matvey’s condition and help him stand on his own feet. Let’s support Matvey — only together can we give him a chance for movement and a happy childhood!
