Ira was born together with her twin sister. From the first days of her life, she has been bravely fighting for her health. Due to serious medical complications and the need for constant care, the family moved to Moscow in search of better treatment.
Ira has cerebral palsy. Despite all the challenges, she is a very determined and persistent girl — from early childhood, she has been working hard to sit, stand, and walk on her own.
She underwent surgery that helped reduce pain and muscle spasticity, but to maintain the progress and continue developing, Ira needs regular rehabilitation courses. Thanks to sessions at the Rodnik Rehabilitation Center, her muscles have become stronger, her coordination and balance have improved, and she’s become more confident and active.
This year, Ira started first grade. It’s not easy for her to keep up, but she tries her best and looks up to her sister for motivation. She now needs regular sessions with a speech therapist, psychologist, and special education teacher to further develop her speech and communication skills. Her mother is raising the twins alone and does everything possible to support their treatment, but the family cannot afford the next rehabilitation course on their own.
