Maryam had chemotherapy!

Maryam has retinal cancer and has been undergoing challenging oncological treatment for several months. Diagnosed with strabismus at birth, she underwent regular checkups. During one of her examinations in September of this year, doctors suspected a tumor in Maryam's right eye. A subsequent examination confirmed the complex diagnosis. Doctors in Tajikistan advised Maryam's family to go to Russia, as the necessary treatment was unavailable where the girl lived. Maryam's father traveled with her for treatment, as her mother remained home with their youngest child. Doctors from the Blokhin National Medical Research Center agreed to help the girl, and it was decided to give Maryam two courses of selective intra-arterial chemotherapy (SIACT). This will allow targeted treatment of the tumor's source, giving the girl a chance to save her eye and prevent the disease from spreading further. Since Maryam is not a Russian citizen, all treatment is paid for. Maryam's family lacks the means to pay for the expensive treatment. The girl's mother is currently staying home with her small child, while her father works alone. Little Maryam wants to get well soon and return home to her mother, whom she misses dearly.
