We helped Misha Korogod get a life-saving medication

Pomosch

Foundation St. Petersburg

Thanks to the help of people who care, Misha Korogod received the necessary drug, Krezemba. The boy lives with his grandparents, who are retired and cannot buy the drug on their own. The course is now over, and Misha is making plans for the future, bringing joy to his loved ones. According to his grandfather, everything is going well. The family has returned home after another hospitalization at a rehabilitation center. Misha is currently finishing 9th grade and preparing for exams. His test results are consistently good, and he is in excellent health. But the treatment continues, and in June he is expected to be at the Almazov National Medical Research Center. This positive attitude is a huge victory, because until recently the boy's life was hanging by a thread. Misha was steadfastly fighting acute lymphoblastic leukemia. At first, his condition was extremely severe: he suffered from septic shock, a drug-induced coma, and then a second coma due to a reaction to the drug. The doctors at the Almazov National Medical Research Center managed to achieve remission, but a dangerous complication, invasive mycosis, struck the weakened body. The fungal infection affected the lungs, spleen, kidneys, and liver. The only solution was the expensive drug Krezemba, for which we launched a fundraising campaign. Now, the fungus has been defeated, and Misha has returned to life as an ordinary teenager, studying, reading his favorite books, and playing computer games. All of this is possible thanks to those who did not pass by.

Campaign information

Misha has leukemia and is currently in remission. He needs medication to fight the infection

At 14, Misha was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He underwent several intensive care units and chemotherapy, losing the ability to walk and speak. Furthermore, his adrenal glands failed, causing his skin to darken. But Misha demonstrated incredible fortitude and overcame cancer. The boy is currently in remission, but he faces a new, serious threat: invasive mycosis. This fungal infection has affected his internal organs and is especially dangerous for cancer patients and can be fatal. To combat the infection, Misha was prescribed the drug Krezemba. It is registered in Russia, but it is not available under the compulsory medical insurance system, and his elderly grandparents, who are raising him, cannot afford it. Misha is an amazing teenager who loves reading philosophy, is studying German, and persists despite all challenges. Let's join us in supporting this courageous boy in this fight!
