Maryam, a mother of two and a doctor from the Chechen Republic, was fighting acute myeloid leukemia. She underwent a bone marrow transplant. After the collection, she received the necessary medication. However, on February 10, Maryam passed away. She succumbed to infectious complications at her local hospital. We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who participated in the collection.

Maryam needs an expensive drug to fight blood cancer

Maryam is a general practitioner from the Chechen Republic. She works as a district doctor in a district polyclinic, because since childhood she wanted to help people. Maryam is also a mother of two children: a 6-year-old son and a 4-year-old daughter. Her house is always filled with warmth and comfort, and the table is set for guests.

A year ago Maryam faced a difficult challenge - she was diagnosed with blood cancer, acute myeloid leukemia. Since that moment already passed a lot: several courses of chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation. Maryam is courageously coping with all the challenges. Now she needs to continue her therapy. But Maryam's family can no longer afford to purchase the expensive medication, as they have already spent significant funds on previous treatments.
