Yakub is 5 years old. Up to the age of two, the boy's development was normal. However, at two years and four months old, the parents noticed disturbing signs: the child stopped responding to his name, ignored the requests of adults and lost interest in playing with children. In March 2022, the family went to a neurologist who diagnosed delayed speech development with symptoms of autism spectrum disorder (ASD with symptoms of ASD).
Already in June 2022, the first comprehensive rehabilitation program began at the Rassvet specialized center. Every day, Yakub receives qualified services from speech pathologists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, participates in sensory integration classes and trainings on the methodology of applied behavior analysis (ABA). Despite the serious difficulties, there is a positive trend: the boy began to show a selective interest in toys, preferring games aimed at training fine motor skills of his hands.
The first successes in self-service have begun, although many skills require additional consolidation. Now Yakub sometimes pronounces the word "mom" on his own.In order to maintain the achieved results and move forward, the boy needs a second comprehensive rehabilitation course.
