Polina is a long-awaited child. The pregnancy went smoothly, but during childbirth complications arose: her head became stuck, and her heartbeat was restored only after four minutes. She was discharged home at two months old, and her rehabilitation began immediately.
Polina is now 6 years old. She can crawl on all fours, walk with support — holding an adult’s hand or using a walker — and is making her first independent steps. Polina has a form of cerebral palsy with predominant hypotonia, which requires constant rehabilitation: her muscles weaken quickly, and growth spurts can lead to setbacks.
She regularly attends physical therapy, massage sessions, speech therapy and tries different rehabilitation methods. Polina is diligent and motivated, and she genuinely celebrates every new achievement.
