Dima's health is monitored by his personal programmer

The parents of two-year-old Dima Grigoriev from Pskov Oblast no longer have to worry about their son's condition and have to travel miles in search of emergency medical care. Now they have a special "suitcase," and in it they have everything they need to control the bypass system. Dima has hydrocephalus. In order for him to live and develop normally, doctors installed a shunt for the child, which brings order to Dima's head by diverting the cerebrospinal fluid from the brain ventricles. Only the settings of the device occasionally go wrong, and if suddenly Dima sleeps longer than usual, gets cranky or refuses to eat, his parents try to rule out the worst. The problem is that the Grigorievs live far away from neurosurgical clinics. Before, any ailment of a child became an occasion for an urgent trip to a hospital 700 km far from home (there is no programmer at hospitals closer to the hospital). It was impossible to live like that. That's why we started collecting for a personal programmer for Dima. And you helped us to buy it. Thanks to everyone who cared. - Our family is immensely grateful for the help, - says Olga Grigorieva. - The device is not just convenient, it greatly improves the quality of life for our child and the whole family. Now we can devote more time to our son's development instead of wasting it on emergency trips. While the collection for Dima was going on, the Grigorievs had time to go to Peter and adjust the settings of the shunt. Now, with their "suitcase," they do not plan trips to the hospital, but to visit their grandmothers. And in the summer, if the doctor allows, they will take their son to the sea. Thank you for Dima's new life and for his peaceful childhood.

Dima needs a programmer

For eight months now, Dima Grigoriev has been living and developing normally thanks to a shunt system that brings order to his head by draining excess fluid from the ventricles of the brain. The boy has hydrocephalus, or as the disease is popularly called, "hydrocephalus of the brain." Since neurosurgeons operated on Dima, his health is not threatened. Or almost nothing. The thing is, the settings of the programmable shunt can get messed up. For example, if a child goes near a microwave or holds an iPhone to his ear. In the Grigorievs' house, gadgets are forbidden for this reason, and there is no microwave or induction stove in the kitchen. Mom and dad are watching their son's condition very carefully and know exactly what to do if suddenly Dima gets dizzy or starts vomiting, if he becomes cranky or sleepy. Then they take their son in an armful and rush by car to the nearest hospital, where there is a special programmer for the shunt valve. "Suitcase" is how moms of children with hydrocephalus call this device and all its accessories. Everything they need for their quiet life is neatly stacked in a small case. Using the programmer it is possible to check the correctness of the shunt and adjust the settings of the system making the child's life comfortable and their parents really happy. The worst thing is that the nearest hospital where they could help Dima and where the "small suitcase" of life is in Saint-Petersburg, about 500 km far from their house. It's far away, expensive (long trips with any sign of poor health is not cheap), dangerous. Dima needs his own personal programmer. With this "suitcase" can live quietly, and if going on a long trip, so not in the hospital, and, for example, by the sea. Let's help Dima to pack a vitally important for him "suitcase"!
