Maxim was born in 2017, having suffered cardiac arrest due to cord entanglement. Severe hypoxia led to brain cell death. At two months old, Maxim began having seizures.
Now, his persistent rehabilitation is bearing fruit. Thanks to treatment, Maxim has regained his sight: he follows objects and examines the world around him. According to his latest MRI, his brain has, despite everything, begun to develop. He has a more confident upper body, and he now has support on his legs.
But Maxim cannot walk, sit, or hold objects. The key to his development is constant monitoring of latent epileptic activity, which could ruin all his progress. This requires EEG video monitoring at least twice a year. This examination allows doctors to adjust therapy, reduce the dosage of potent medications, and safely continue rehabilitation. Without it, further progress is impossible.
