Five years ago, Mark was born, and during his first months of life, he developed like a normal baby. But after just two months, it became clear something was wrong: Mark couldn't lift his head at all. At 3.5 months old, he was diagnosed with SMA type 1. A whole year was spent waiting for treatment. During this time, Mark became significantly weaker and became completely dependent on adult care and medical equipment.
Mark is a very inquisitive and sociable boy: he loves cars, collects Kinder Surprise figurines, plays computer and board games, and enjoys traveling and discovering new places.
Because of his severe diagnosis, feeding Mark is not an easy task. He eats four to five times a day, at regular intervals, with each feeding taking up to an hour. A special therapeutic formula is the only source of strength, energy, and development for his body. Other nutrition is not suitable for Mark: without the formula, his condition worsens, and the progress the family has been working towards for years could be lost.
