Thanks to the users of Tooba, Salavat now has his own active wheelchair. Thank you to everyone who supported the fundraiser and helped make this possible.

The wheelchair was individually selected for Salavat — taking into account his posture, body positioning, and daily needs. This is important so that he can sit comfortably, maintain a stable position, and gradually learn to move on his own.

An occupational therapist has already adjusted the wheelchair for Salavat. Very soon, he will start learning how to use it: how to control his movement, turn the wheels, and get used to a new body position.

For Salavat, this is not only about gaining more independence in everyday life. It is also part of his rehabilitation: training his arms, trunk, coordination, and endurance. When a wheelchair fits a child well, movement becomes not a separate exercise, but a natural part of the day — at home, during therapy sessions, and on walks.

Thank you to the Tooba users for your support. Thanks to you, Salavat now has a wheelchair that will support him every day — in movement, therapy, and ordinary family life.

Salavat with cerebral palsy needs an active wheelchair!

Salavat has cerebral palsy. He cannot walk on his own and fully depends on adults for mobility.

Salavat is a very hardworking boy. He understands adults’ words well, listens carefully to his instructor, and tries to complete tasks. But because of muscle spasticity, it is difficult for him to control his body. “In his head, he understands what needs to be done: get on all fours, rise onto his knees, place a foot for support. But his body doesn’t always respond — the muscles seem to ‘hold’ him back,” his mother says.

Right now, Salavat really needs an active wheelchair. It will help him sit properly during home-based sessions, eat comfortably, and cope better with physical strain. On walks and trips to rehabilitation centers, the wheelchair will allow him to cover longer distances without pain or exhaustion.

An active wheelchair will give Salavat more independence: the chance to play next to his brother, explore his surroundings, and take part in everyday family life. It will help him maintain the skills he already has and support the development of new ones — at his own pace, in a way that works for him.
