Salavat now has his own wheelchair!

Salavat has cerebral palsy. He cannot walk on his own and fully depends on adults for mobility. Salavat is a very hardworking boy. He understands adults’ words well, listens carefully to his instructor, and tries to complete tasks. But because of muscle spasticity, it is difficult for him to control his body. “In his head, he understands what needs to be done: get on all fours, rise onto his knees, place a foot for support. But his body doesn’t always respond — the muscles seem to ‘hold’ him back,” his mother says. Right now, Salavat really needs an active wheelchair. It will help him sit properly during home-based sessions, eat comfortably, and cope better with physical strain. On walks and trips to rehabilitation centers, the wheelchair will allow him to cover longer distances without pain or exhaustion. An active wheelchair will give Salavat more independence: the chance to play next to his brother, explore his surroundings, and take part in everyday family life. It will help him maintain the skills he already has and support the development of new ones — at his own pace, in a way that works for him.
