Yasmina is nine years old. She lives in Grozny, loves to draw Cheburashka, and makes unusual dance moves. Her life is like that of many girls her age, with one important exception.
Right now, Yasmina spends most of her time in the hospital. Doctors have discovered she has a congenital immune deficiency — her immune system doesn't work like other children's. Because of this, the girl's skin is constantly inflamed, with painful, pus-filled sores that itch unbearably and prevent her from doing the simplest things: holding a pencil firmly, turning over in her sleep without pain, simply living and growing.
To stop this, a special medication is needed — one that targets the very cause of the inflammation. This treatment will allow Yasmina to forget the constant pain, return home to her family and friends, and simply have the chance to be a child.
We are raising funds for this vital medication for Yasmina. Let's not allow this illness to steal this little girl's happy childhood!
