Natasha needs a course of Jakavi (Ruxolitinib) to cope with complications from leukemia

In 2019 Natasha was expecting her second child. At first the pregnancy went well, but after twenty weeks Natasha fell ill: body aches, chills, fever. A tooth inflamed, it was extracted, treated with antibiotics, but it did not get better. Five weeks later I went to a hematologist. The doctor paled when he saw the blood test: according to the results Natasha was literally dying. That is how Natasha ended up in Moscow, at the Hematology Institute, and the treatment began. They performed a cesarean section right in the Hematology Center, and both she and the baby went to the intensive care unit. Sashenka went to a nearby maternity hospital to the incubator, and Natasha went to intensive care for two weeks with IVs and machines. The treatment was supposed to be complicated, but standard: 6 courses of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. However, the cells had not engrafted. The decision was made to carry out the transplantation once more. And what happened next, like in a bad movie: Natasha had to undergo four (!) bone marrow transplants. Four times her own cells were killed with "chemo", and on the fourth time the donor's hematopoiesis worked, Natasha survived. Unfortunately, Natasha developed a graft versus host reaction with lesions of the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes. On the one hand this means that the donor's cells took root, but on the other it worsens the quality of her life, because she is in constant pain, inflammations and has to take immune-suppressing medications. The doctors decided to start treatment with Jakavi (Ruxolitinib). This drug is registered in Russia, but the MHI does not include treatment of RCTs. For this reason it is not possible to provide it free of charge to Tatiana. Natasha's son is 3 years old, he is running, talking and knows that mommy is sick and goes away for a long time, but always comes back. Let's help her return to her family for good!
