Kirill has had the crucial tests needed to keep his epilepsy under control and maintain remission

Foundation Moscow

Kirill was two years and two months old when he was officially recognized as having a disability due to severe motor development delay: he could not walk. For a long time, there was no specific diagnosis. Today, he has two primary conditions: organic personality disorder with cognitive and autism-like impairments, and epilepsy. He took his first independent steps only at two and a half years old. His parents heard his first words when he was already seven. Today, he speaks in phrases — and every single one of them is precious. Kirill works with a speech therapist, a special needs teacher, a sensory therapist, and regularly takes courses in adaptive gymnastics. Recently, Kirill underwent a nocturnal video-EEG monitoring and a specialist consultation to detect any changes in time and adjust his epilepsy therapy accordingly.

Kirill has several diagnoses and needs important tests to maintain remission

Kirill was two years and two months old when he was diagnosed with a disability due to a serious delay in motor development: he could not walk. For a long time there was no specific diagnosis. Today, he has two main diseases: organic mental personality disorder with cognitive and autistic-like disorders and epilepsy. His childhood is a story of small but incredible victories that came with great difficulty. He took his first independent steps only when he was two and a half years old. His parents heard the first words when he was already in his eighth year. Today he speaks in phrases, and each of them is precious. From a child who showed almost no emotions, he turned into a kind, affectionate and positive boy. Kirill adores his younger sister and brother, carries the baby in his arms, plays and laughs. He always kisses everyone before going to bed, loves hugs and is very touchingly shy of strangers. All this has become possible thanks to constant, daily work. Kirill works with a speech therapist, a speech pathologist, a sensory therapist, and takes courses in adaptive gymnastics. A key breakthrough in his development was the well-chosen therapy for epilepsy, which made it possible to achieve remission of seizures. However, to maintain this result and its development, it is vital to undergo a complex and expensive examination twice a year — night video EEG monitoring. Now the family is faced with the need to pay for another such examination and specialist consultation. Kirill's every step, every new word, is a victory for the whole family. Let's help them maintain and multiply these successes.
