There are such dogs - with the exterior of a "backyard beagle", discreetly colored, at first glance do not stand out from the general mass of shelter pets - but behind their commonplace appearance hides a real personality. Every dog is smart, but the ones we are talking about now are somehow especially smart.
They subtly read your mood and know how to support you if you give in to despondency, are very loyal friends, follow you with their tails and are jealous of other dogs.
Graya is one of those unique dogs. She is a "veteran" of the shelter, having lived here for at least 12 years. There used to be two of them - Graya and Ruja - an inseparable pair of active, almost sporty dogs who were very lively and cheerful and affectionate. They were always in a good mood, which they generously shared with volunteers. In 2020, Ruji was gone - and her little sister began to give up. As if from boredom. In July of this year, the shelter doctor discovered that Gray had tumors on her mammary glands...
A visit to the clinic made us nervous. It turned out that for some reason Gray had not been spayed along with the others, and over the years she had developed reproductive problems. Which, in fact, triggered the tumors on her breasts. It was necessary not only to remove the neoplasms, but also all the "female" organs, and the more surgical intervention, the greater the risk for the elderly dog. But we had to make up our minds. And so all the preliminary procedures - chest X-ray, abdominal ultrasound, ECHO of the heart and MRI of the head - were passed. No metastases (hooray!). The operation was authorized.
The sum for examinations - 23600 rubles. - The money for the operation was not enough, we had to borrow it.
The surgery and a stay in the hospital will cost about 50 thousand roubles.
Kind Hearts! Let's give this affectionate, intelligent, and positive girl a chance to live a few more years. Such dogs love life very much and teach us to be as sincere and bright as they are. Graya, "Just live, doggy".
