Friends, thank you for supporting Pirozhok and his friends!

Thanks to your help, we were able to purchase test strips for monitoring blood sugar in cats with diabetes. Now Pirozhok and three other cats with this diagnosis can receive insulin safely and on time — we know their exact glucose levels and can adjust the dosage accordingly.

In the photos from the purchase, Pirozhok's friend is proudly showing off the test strips — another cat at the shelter who also has diabetes. These strips were essential for her as well.

We are grateful that thanks to you, our "diabetic" cats are stable and can live peacefully, play, and wait for their homes. Thank you for helping us care for them every day.

About the campaign

Pirozhok the cat has diabetes and needs test strips to check his sugar levels

Cat Pirozhok came to the shelter as a tiny baby — less than a month old, freezing on the street. We bottle-fed him, raised him, removed a damaged eye after a street infection, and helped him adapt to a congenital ataxia that causes him to sway slightly when he walks.

But recently, Pirozhok was diagnosed with diabetes. Now, as prescribed by an endocrinologist, he needs daily insulin injections. And for these injections to be safe and precise, we must check his blood sugar levels three times a day — which requires special test strips.

Besides Pirozhok, three other diabetic cats live in the shelter, and they all need constant monitoring. The test strips run out quickly, and without them, the pets' lives are at risk.

Please, help us purchase test strips for Pirozhok and his friends! Let's ensure they receive stable treatment and a chance at a long, happy life, despite their diagnosis.
