In 2010, the family had twins – a son and a daughter. The girl was born healthy, and her brother was born with a rare and incurable genetic disease - epidermolysis bullosa. With this diagnosis, the human skin is injured by the slightest touch.
In the first year of his life, Muhammad was often in intensive care, the family lived between hospitals and hope. But he survived.
Muhammad is 15 today. He likes to spend time with friends, ride an ATV and dreams of becoming a doctor to help other children. The only way to help patients like Muhammad is through daily dressings, which essentially take over some of the skin's functions. Ordinary bandages are not suitable for this - they injure the skin even more. We need special soft anti-traumatic materials that protect against injury and infection, help wounds heal, and reduce pain. In addition to bandages, special ointments and skin care products are needed.
It takes a lot of supplies and they are needed all the time. The Butterfly Children Foundation has been supporting Muhammad's family for many years. We are raising funds for bandages and care products so that Muhammad can have friends, dreams, and plans for the future in his life. Let's help Muhammad!
