Maryam is only eight years old. She was diagnosed with residual encephalopathy with manifestations of cognitive, speech, and emotional-volitional disorders of the autistic spectrum. The girl is registered with a psychiatrist. Maryam has no speech, retains only partial eye contact, has limited understanding of spoken language, interaction with others is difficult, and self-service skills are virtually nonexistent.
