David was born absolutely healthy and developed according to his years. But when the boy was one and a half years old, he began to regress all acquired skills. According to his mother, it began after they treated his teeth under anesthesia, and then vaccinations were given to him as well. It was after these events that David's temperature rose and a gradual rollback in development began, especially psycho-emotional - he did not respond to the name, there was no eye contact, there was no index gesture, there was little active speech.
Echolalia and stereotypy appeared as accompanying symptoms of the disease, besides, David does not feel danger at all, he can run away wherever he wants.
"Doctors said he would outgrow it, it will pass, then he was diagnosed with alalia, and then autism followed. We started to look for the cause and in parallel, plus we added nootropics, different methods of physio, physical therapy and so on," says mother Maria.
The neurologists sent the family to see a geneticist. He recommended a genetic test - a complete genome sequencing. Such an analysis will help find out what happened to David and why the drastic regression of his skills began, where the roots of his disease grew from, and will also help adjust treatment and make it more effective.
"David is growing up to be a good boy, he has no aggression, he knows a lot of things, he's strong in transportation, electronics. He is learning to love his sister, to be friends, to communicate, and it is very difficult for him, but I believe that we can teach him all these things. This summer the children were taken to the Black Sea, where they loved it very much," says the mother.
