The social service of our foundation provides comprehensive home care services for the elderly on an ongoing basis.
The social worker manages to do a lot of work in a certain amount of time, including wet cleaning. Unfortunately, the need for various services is so high that it is not possible to devote a significant amount of time to cleaning.
We have identified the need to organise a cleaning team to target workers for quality cleaning. This approach is particularly relevant in cases of primary care for older people. Usually the homes of new recipients are in great disrepair - cluttered, dirty and unsanitary. In order to start serving such an elderly person, a time-consuming and labour-intensive cleaning has to be done first.
Also this summer, many homes have been in a flood zone. In this case we also had to find people to clear the flooded houses.
And since the need to organize general cleaning has become systematic, this type of work can no longer exist at the expense of volunteers and social workers.
With the advent of our cleaning group, we will be able to eliminate the service of cleaning by social workers, focusing their efforts on more contact services, such as organizing hygiene procedures, feeding, socializing, fulfilling medical appointments, etc.
