Report

Yaroslav grew up with developmental delays, and at the age of 5, he began experiencing uncontrollable epileptic seizures. It took a year to find the right medication, but the remission only lasted three months before the seizures returned. Yaroslav has difficulty sleeping, gets tired quickly, and cannot sit through more than three lessons at school. He has yet to learn how to read and write, and has difficulty speaking. But at the same time, Yarik is a surprisingly kind boy: he feels sorry for stray cats, feeds them, loves to sing, dance, and ride a scooter, although running is difficult for him. Now the boy has undergone a broad and in-depth genetic study, which can give him a chance to live without seizures, to study and be happy.

About the campaign

Yaroslav urgently needs genetic testing to find the cause of his disease and stop the seizures

Yaroslav grew up with developmental delays: he started speaking late, always had poor coordination, and hyperactivity made it difficult for him to concentrate. But the real nightmare began when he was 5 years old.

Yaroslav started rolling his eyes back. At first, his parents thought he was just fooling around, but the situation kept getting worse. With each passing day, he jerked his arms and eyes more and more, began dropping dishes, spilling food, and bumping into tables and the sink. It became uncontrollable. An EEG made everything clear: these were epileptic seizures. It took a year to find the right medication, but the remission lasted only three months—then the seizures returned.

Today, Yaroslav hardly sleeps, gets tired quickly, and cannot sit through more than three lessons at school. He still hasn't learned to read or write and has difficulty speaking. Yet, despite everything, Yarik is an incredibly kind boy: he feels sorry for stray cats, feeds them, loves to sing, dance, and ride his scooter—even though running is hard for him.

Now, the boy needs to undergo an extensive and in-depth genetic test—one that could offer him a chance at a life without seizures, an opportunity to learn, to run, and simply to be happy.
