Jasur needs heart surgery

Jasur's heart is malformed, with abnormal positioning of the great vessels and stenosis of the pulmonary artery. Consequently, he experiences persistent weakness and shortness of breath. A pediatrician detected a noise in the heart when Jasur was only one month old. In Tajikistan the boy was placed under medical observation, medications were prescribed, but surgical intervention was declined, with physicians stating that treatment would be meaningless. Jasur's condition deteriorated with each passing year. Due to his poor health, he was frequently absent from school. His parents learned that such heart defects as Jasur's are corrected in Moscow and they traveled there for a consultation. Thanks to the support of the "Children's Hearts" Foundation, the first stage of the surgical correction of the heart defect was performed. Following the surgery, he experienced immediate improvement in his breathing. Currently, the second surgical procedure is required. Without it, the heart is unable to cope with physiological demands. The family lives in modest circumstances. To assist their son, the parents sold a part of their home; however, the majority of the funds were allocated to travel expenses and preliminary medical examinations. Jasur aspires to become a physician. He observes the physicians at the Moscow clinic and states that he, too, wishes to save children's lives.
