Thank you for helping the little ones not be sick alone!

Thanks to your support, we were able to pay for the work of hospital nannies who stay with children who are alone in the hospital.

Over the course of two months, 60 children were surrounded by the care, love, and attention of our hospital nannies.

We would like to share a story from the project: A three-year-old girl named Eva* was admitted to the infectious diseases ward with a high fever and severe weakness. It was a difficult time for her: the treatment required IV drips, and there was no one by her side at that moment.

During the next procedure, a hospital nanny was with Eva. She held the girl's hand, spoke to her calmly, and kept repeating that she would feel better very soon. To distract and comfort the little girl, the nanny quietly sang a lullaby. Hearing the familiar melody, Eva relaxed and fell asleep.

With each passing day, the girl's condition improved. She began to smile more often, was more willing to communicate, and looked forward to seeing the nanny. Together, they sang songs, and soon Eva was happily singing along herself.

These moments may seem simple, but they are exactly what help children cope with treatment more easily. Care, attention, and a sense of safety reduce anxiety, make the hospital stay less frightening, and help the child focus on the most important thing—getting better.

Help 30 little ones not have to suffer through illness alone

Every month, 30 children from orphanages end up in hospitals. They get sick just like children from families, but they are completely alone. Without a mom, without a dad, without someone who could simply hold their hand.

Even adults are scared in the hospital, and children even more so. Doctors do everything necessary, but they don't have time to sit nearby, hug, or comfort.

One little boy was three years old when he was admitted to the hospital at night. Our nanny came into the room — the child was lying there with an IV drip. She spent the whole night with him: stroking his hand, singing lullabies. Towards morning, a miracle happened — he asked for some porridge. For the first time, he trusted someone and felt safe. And upon discharge, he said he would sing lullabies to his friends so they wouldn't be scared.

For 18 years, we have been finding, training, and paying for nannies. Our nannies feed, play, care for the children, and give them something without which recovery is impossible: warmth and a sense of security.

This fundraiser will help us pay for one month of work for two nannies for children alone in the hospital, so that there will be even more stories like this.
