Ahmad is developing a proper head shape

Thanks to your help, the child now has an orthopedic helmet, which helps to consolidate the results of the skull surgery. Both Ahmad’s mother and the doctors now like the way his head looks. Thank you for coming to the rescue so quickly!

Ahmad’s “fontanelle” closed too early, and a hard ridge formed in its place. Before the growing brain became compressed, the surgeons urgently performed a skull shape reconstruction on the child. But that was only the first stage. The second step was a 6‑month wearing of a special helmet made to individual measurements.

“Our family is immensely grateful to all the kind people who helped us continue the treatment,” says Ahmad’s mother. “Our son wears the helmet all the time; we only take it off when he’s bathing. In two months, his head has acquired the correct shape, and all the skull bones have moved into place.”

This was confirmed by a neurologist at the republican hospital. And the mother herself can see that her fifth child’s head has taken on the correct shape, like that of all her older children.

In the family, because of the helmet, Ahmad is compared to an MMA fighter. And there’s no exaggeration in that. The boy wears the helmet without any fuss.
