10-year-old Sabrina came to Moskva from an orphanage in Novosibirskaya oblast for spinal cord surgery. Due to a congenital disease, the girl cannot walk, but the surgery helped slow the progression of the illness and gave her the opportunity to continue living a full life, as she is used to.

Sabrina is an orphan: her parents were deprived of parental rights — so she came to Moskva all alone. A strange hospital, unfamiliar people, an upcoming surgery, and not a single familiar face nearby — a terrifying ordeal for a child's psyche.

But the entire time Sabrina was in the hospital, a nanny from the foundation was by her side: supporting her, holding her hand, helping her not to be afraid.

"At first, Sabrina was very anxious, even scared," the nanny says, "but we quickly found common ground, and she was able to relax. We made crafts together, drew, danced to her favorite music. And, of course, we talked a lot. She is still a child, but 10 is an age when many questions arise and you want to discuss them with someone."
