Kolya is 5 years old. His parents abandoned him because they couldn't cope with his care— the boy has Sindrom Dauna and an intestinal disease, because of which, before the Fond moved him to Moskva, he was fed through a gastrostomy and still weighed extremely little. The boy's life was in danger.
For most of his life, Kolya has lived in the Sotsialnyy tsentr of the Fond under the care of his nanny, Lyuba. She replaced his parents, becoming the closest and most reliable person to him. It was also Lyuba who literally nursed Kolya back to health, learned all the intricacies of caring for him, and thanks to her efforts, the boy began to gain weight, learned to hold his head up, then to sit, to walk... And now he is one of the most active children in the Sotsialnyy tsentr.
"When I first saw Kolyasik, he weighed 6 kilograms," says the nanny. "His condition was terrible. And look at him now—such a wonderful, cheerful little boy—just like any other child. Yes, he still needs special care, a special diet, lots of medications... But the most important thing is that he got the chance to grow, develop, and smile."
