Islam is a kind, positive, and smiling boy. He quickly finds common ground with children and adults. He enjoys playing board games and also enjoys playing with cars and toy soldiers.
Islam has a rare brain disorder called moyamoya. This is a progressive condition that over time causes all the blood vessels in the brain to narrow and completely close.
Islam suffers from frequent headaches and leg pain. He has memory loss and delayed psychomotor development. He has also had microstrokes. At his young age, he has undergone numerous surgeries, two of which were on the brain.
Islam has completed several rehabilitation courses. He is showing positive results: his pain has decreased, and his speech has improved. To consolidate the results and develop new skills, he needs another course. The program will include massage, Bobath therapy, and sessions with an orthopedist.
