Khadija will soon be four years old, she is full of life; she loves dancing, drawing and playing with her friends at nursery. She adores cats; she has a whole family of toy cats living at home. But behind this ordinary childhood lies a constant fear: at any moment, Khadija could lose consciousness.
Her first fainting spell occurred when she was two and a half. For a long time, doctors did not believe such a thing was possible at that age. But the episodes kept recurring. They could not find the cause.
It was then that doctors began to seriously examine Khadija for the first time, in order to understand what was happening.
After all the tests, the doctors decided to operate on Khadija and implant a special device that would monitor her heart rhythm and record any changes. This will help the doctors make an accurate diagnosis and prescribe treatment.
Her mum is raising Khadija on her own. She works informally, mending clothes, but this income is only enough for the bare essentials.
