Friends, every day new cats arrive at the "Devoted Heart" shelter. From the streets, from basements, from kind people who found a freezing kitten or a cat hit by a car.
The first thing we do when a new cat arrives is test for dangerous viruses. This is vital — to start treatment immediately and protect the other 500 cats in the shelter.
We need rapid tests for:
— Calicivirus — a dangerous infection affecting the respiratory tract and joints;
— Panleukopenia — a deadly disease that can kill a cat within days;
— Two-in-one — Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and Feline Leukemia (FeLV/FIV), which destroy the immune system and leave animals defenseless against any infection.
We need 4 packs of each type (10 tests per pack). That's 12 packs in total.
Tests are used up quickly — every new arrival, every cat with suspicious symptoms needs to be checked. Without tests, we cannot make a timely diagnosis — which means we risk losing an animal or allowing an outbreak of infection in the shelter.
Please help us cover this fundraiser. A quick diagnosis saves lives and keeps all the cats at "Devoted Heart" safe.
