Dasha had an operation

The surgeon polished the internal scar on Dasha’s cheek, which remained after surgery for facial paralysis. It was this scar that was pulling the cheek and preventing the girl from smiling symmetrically.
Since birth, one side of Dasha’s face had been completely immobile. Two surgeries, during which the microsurgeon implanted a nerve in her cheek and, after it had grown, transplanted a muscle flap as a second stage, almost solved the problem. Dasha showed noticeable facial improvements.
However, after healing, it became clear what was preventing the new cheek muscle from stretching to the required length. In some patients, excessively dense postoperative scars form due to excessive collagen synthesis during the healing process. So Dasha needed a new stage of treatment, and your kindness, friends. And everything worked out!
“The corrective surgery went well. Even with the taping, it seems to me that my daughter’s face looks better visually. The effect of the sunken appearance has gone away.” Dasha will also undergo a rehabilitation course to train her facial muscles. I think the results will be absolutely стопроцентными. As they say, they’re obvious!” shares Yulia, the girl’s mother.
Immediately after returning home from the clinic, Dasha will start her school lessons, as well as classes at an English club and aerial gymnastics training, which she attends with great pleasure.
We believe that the girl’s smile will become even more beautiful. And we sincerely thank you for your help to the Denisov family!

Campaign information

Dasha has facial paralysis and needs surgery.
When Dasha experiences strong emotions—whether she cries or laughs—her mouth pulls to one side. The girl has already undergone two surgeries to treat facial paralysis. She now needs one final operation.
One side of her face was completely immobile. The only microsurgeon in Russia capable of performing this procedure, based in Yaroslavl, first grafted a nerve taken from under Dasha’s knee to the healthy side of her face. Over the course of a year, it gradually grew into the affected cheek. Then, a muscle flap from her thigh was transplanted onto the now reinnervated side.
After several months of rehabilitation, Dasha developed a completely new smile, and her eye began to close more naturally. But it turned out that scar tissue from the last surgery is pulling her cheek inward. Unfortunately, conservative treatments have not helped, so another surgery is needed to restore symmetry to her face.
This is not just about a smile or appearance. This affects her self-esteem, her ability to connect with others, and her future. Let’s help Dasha get through this final step.
