Friends, every animal that arrives at the "Devoted Heart" shelter undergoes mandatory diagnostics. Without it, we don't know exactly what the newcomer is sick with, how to treat them, or whether they are safe for the other 500 cats. We send tests to a professional veterinary laboratory. These are PCR and ELISA — tests that accurately detect viruses and infections: — feline leukemia (FeLV); — immunodeficiency (FIV); — herpesvirus; — calicivirus; — and other dangerous diseases. Each test costs money. Every newcomer gets tested. We also retest suspicious cats, monitor treatment progress, and test animals before they go to their new homes. The costs add up quickly. But without these tests, the shelter cannot function. They are our main tool to: — treat sick animals properly; — protect healthy ones from infection; — ensure we don't send cats with hidden infections into families. We are raising funds to cover the cost of laboratory tests (PCR and ELISA) for the shelter cats. Please help us continue to diagnose accurately and on time.
